The Aliante Stile SW was designed as an evolution of the Stile PF, similar high-style aesthetics and an improved level of accuracy and performance. A new 5" mid-woofer driver, derived from the Linea PF model, replaces the 4" woofer used in the Stile PF, improving the already commendable bass response and extension. The cabinet has been improved in several ways: 1) the internal volume of the cabinet has been increased to produce a more accurate and deeper bass response with a higher extension in dynamics and sound stage than the Stile PF; 2) the cabinet is formed from solid wood staves hand-crafted by our master woodworkers to provide an enhanced level of quality and workmanship. Every cabinet component is produced using numeric control CAD-CAM equipment and assembled with several interconnections between the parts to guarantee the maximum strength and rigidity, avoiding structural deformations. The understated elegance, the line style, the simplicity and the high class of finishing makes these speakers a fine classical object which integrates well into any type of room environment and suitable to any classical or modern furnishings. As with the best examples of modern design, form follows function, as principal style elements are really essential parts of the functional design, such as he tilted front panel which provides a coherent phase between the drivers, increases high frequencies dispersion and reduces internal standing waves. Similarly, the side bass reflex ports avoid spurious emissions without creating positioning problems associated with rear bass port designs. The Linea PF derived mid-woofer is fabricated in Italy according to Aliante's proprietary design specifications. The coated paper cone releases a live sound and together with the Aliante designed internal phase plug optimizes dispersion of midrange frequencies. |

A 3" double magnet enables a high density flux, reduces environment flux dispersion and permits placement closer to a television for use in home theater applications. The woofer also features an aluminum die cast basket, a very light rubber suspension and a voice coil for quick transient response and high power handling. The 1" soft dome tweeter features coated silk fabric and a shielded magnet that provides a decompression back chamber function. The tweeter voice coil works in a low viscosity magnetic fluid for better power handling, more acoustic damping and improved cooling. The tweeter is also a custom made design that offers a detailed presentation together with high velocity transient response for an extremely high definition, without an annoying or aggressive character. As with previous Aliante designs, the crossover is a first order type using high quality components as standard equipment, such as our high quality AUDIOCAP polypropylene capacitors in an extended first order design with only nine elements. Special resistors and high density coils complement the high quality design of the crossover, and the internal wiring harness is assembled by hand using OFC multiple solid core wires manufactured for high performance applications in the high speed telecommunications field (CAT 5). Finally, four speaker terminals and complete ground separation are provided either for the use of single or highly recommended bi-wiring connection. |

| STANDS
VELA and BASE are the ideal complements needed by all standmount loudspeakers. A linear and polished design emphasizes the shape of the cabinets, the colours and wood veneers underline the style coherence with the loudspeakers, making high class and fashionable systems, at the same time perfectly fitting every kind of environment. But the superb design is not the only feature of this component. We can't avoid saying how subtle is the mechanical working and how exclusive is the finishing. But mostly is the used material making the difference with similar products; aluminium, more expensive than the commonly employed steel, but signed by light weight and high damping. Without any doubt the ability to stop unwilling vibrations is a positive factor, while it is more difficult to consider the lightness as a benefit. It is not difficult to realise that a woofer, even if not big, can get vibrating very heavy structures (a wall, for example) and most probably the stands too, no matter of their weight. So, |
because of the difficulty
to stop vibrations in their arising, we think it's better to contain the
mass in order to reduce the related energy. This is the reason why the
stand is filled with light fibres instead of usual materials (sand, lead
pellets) reaching adequate damping without increasing the structure weight.The
so called "sail" of wood is not only an original stylistic component, but
it works out a specific task, performing like a baffle under the woofer.
All that causes an increased load with consequent light accentuation of
the frequency range commonly identified as low-medium. So,
in addition to the comprehensible considerations related to the aesthetic,
this property becomes important in speaker-stand assembling, making preferable
VELA in free standing places, or when you are looking for a tone balance
underlining the low-medium.
