The ARISTA, Cadence Audio's newest addition to their line of electrostatic hybrid loudspeakers debuted at HE 2003 in Rooms 605 and 606 at the Westin St. Francis Hotel during the HE 2003 show, June 5-8, 2003, in San Francisco.   The smooth and extended highs of the electrostatic panel produce natural and phase coherent upper harmonics to 30KHz without any hint of treble harshness or strain.  Also on active exhibit was the AVITA electrostatic hybrid floorstander, a smaller model with similar design and fabrication techniques as the Arista.

At the HE 2003 show, the Aristas were being driven by the Audion Golden Dreams 22 watt parallel single-ended 300B Level 6 monoblocks ($15,000/pair), while the Avitas were paired with the Audion Silver Nights 18 watt 300B PSE Mk 2 monoblocks ($7,395/pair)..  While both models can handle hundreds of solid state watts, they both work very well with tube amplification as well.  Audion tube amplifiers have an exceptionally fast rise time and slew rate, which is ideal for the extended and quick response of the Arista and Avita electrostatic panels.  The result was an open and natural presentation with a very smooth and extended treble response.

Both models feature: a proprietary electrostatic panel which is impervious to humidity and which is designed to prevent arcing, thereby extending the useful life of the panels well beyond that of conventional electrostatic panels; improved Linkwitz filters for smooth impedance curve and coherent wave propagation; Eton Hexacomb mid-woofers with dual membranes stiffened with intra-laminar honeycomb elements, so that the cones are light and stiff to respond quickly to transients and peaks to provide better compliance with the extremely fast response of the electrostatic panel; thecabinets are formed from a proprietary composite material to reduce cabinet resonances; solid front baflles formed 

from solid billets of certified plantation grown cherry, teak, mahagony, and other quality hardwoods.

Performance
The Avita and Arista  loudspeakers are the  first of the new generation  loudspeakers from the  Cadence design studios.  Based  on several technologies  derived from the flagship  Arca speaker, the Avita and Arista  are highly evolved and  refined loudspeakers which  perform above their  class in every aspect.  Transparency coupled  with a wide frequency  response, superb sound  staging and neutrality  combined with the new  generation styling from  Cadence make the  Avita and Arista loudspeakers that  cannot be outperformed.  Both models are versatile in terms of associated equipment and listening environment, and capable of reproducing any genre of music faithfully with a grace and ease that belies their potential for weight and authority when required.
