Diana

Diana is a 1 cubic foot standmount front port bass reflex / solid wood horn loudspeaker system fully designed, hand crafted and manufactured in Italy by Aliante s.r.l. with optimum design and finishing.  The horn is a Royal Device product designed to reproduce a full 1KHz – 20KHz bandwidth at 101 dB efficiency with a completely flat response without the use of a phase plug on the soft dome ¾" SEAS tweeter.  The 8.5" woofer is another Royal Device product and has been specially custom designed for the Laura and Diana Royal Device models.  The choice of no crossover on the woofer and a mechanical alignment which reduces cone break-up in the high frequencies and matches the woofer decay to perfectly match the tweeter slope and high-pass network.   The woofer response is down  6dB at 10KHz, for a full audio band direct radiation with no "midrange horn compression nasality".   It delivers 97.5 dB efficiency together with high velocity and dynamic response.  The speaker implements no crossover on the woofer, which preserves phase coherency between fundamentals and harmonics into the band of main energy content (up to 8.5 Khz) during complex music signals, reproducing music programs as real as the source is.  The components used are first class as the new generation Aliante AudioCap PPFF custom made capacitors used for the tweeter's 14dB slope high-pass filter.
